What this solves
A Yading itinerary is not just "total km / days" — it's "where you sleep each night" combined with a daily km that your body can actually do at altitude. Generic km/day estimates (10–15) ignore that 600 m of climb is a Yading day on its own. This tool distributes your total km + ascent into a defensible per-day table, flags the days that violate the sleep-altitude rule, and estimates the time it'll take.
Your trip total
How to read the result
Hours estimate uses 3.5 km/h on flat + 1 h per 600 m of climb on standard Yading terrain, multiplied by a fitness factor (0.8–1.2).
Yellow rows are rest / acclimatisation days — recommended when sleep altitude is 4,200 m+ and you have less than 6 days total.
Orange rows are heavy days — they push past 18 km or 1,200 m of climb. Acceptable for fit trekkers, dangerous for AMS risk.
The tool does not assume side trips. A "day-tour Milk Lake" from Luorong still adds ~3 km and ~400 m of climb, included in the total.

FAQ
A: Inner Kora day at 4,400 m: 4-6 h of walking with a 400-600 m climb, a half-hour at the lake, then 2 h descent. 7-9 h door-to-door.
A: Yes — but it's a 24-km, 1,500 m round-trip with no acclimatisation. Most Yading visitors do it badly. We strongly recommend 2 days.
A: At altitude, fitness above a baseline doesn't help much. The slow climber with good acclimatisation beats the marathoner who arrived yesterday.
A: Re-balance using the Acclimatization Itinerary tool. The rule: subtract the heaviest day first; if you need 4 → 3 days, drop Kashe.
